CfACTs is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) COFUND research centre, co-led by Prof Jian Chang and Prof Jian J Zhang, of the Bournemouth University’s National Centre for Computer Animation (BU NCCA); CfACTs runs from October 2020 to September 2025.
CfACTs has recruited six funded post-doctoral researchers (CfACTs fellows) and, working together with UK creative technology companies, aims to deliver multi-disciplinary research focused on industrial applications related to two BU Strategic Investment Areas: Animation, Simulation and Visualisation; Medical Science, and Assistive Technology. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 900025.

We are pleased to work together with our industrial partner organisations, to support the career development and training provision for our research fellows. Working collaboratively with industry, our fellows will apply their research cross-sectorally for various applications, including but not limited to computer animation, visual effects (VFX), computer vision, visualisation, healthcare, retail and assistive technology.

Dr. Chaoguang Wang attended the 25th annual International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCII 2023) held in Copenhagen, Denmark, 23 - 28th July. He presented his first-authored paper titled "personalised Music Therapy Information System Based on Algorithmic Composition in the Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder", exploring AI technologies as an intervention for autism spectrum disorder.
